An adverb is a word that modifies or describes another word, such as an adjective (he sings loudly), a verb (ended too quickly), or even an entire sentence (Fortunately, I had brought an umbrella). Although many adverbs end in -ly, some, like fast, look exactly like their adjective equivalents.
Example :
Tom Longboat did not run badly.
Tom is very tall.
The race finished too quickly.
Fortunately, Lucy recorded Tom’s win.
It’s easy to identify adverbs in these sentences.
